Google launches Gemini 3.7 Flash with stronger coding, AI agent and web development capabilities, plus new pricing for developers.

Gemini 3.7 Flash

Google has launched Gemini 3.7 Flash, a new AI model built for coding, digital agents, and everyday knowledge work. The release came just three weeks after its predecessor, Gemini 3.6 Flash. Google calls it the most capable Flash model it has ever made. The launch matters because it shows how fast AI companies are now pushing out updates.

Coding is one of the biggest areas of improvement in this new model. On a test called FrontierCode 1.1 Main, Gemini 3.7 Flash scored 43.6 percent, up from 34.4 percent for the older version. On another test called DeepSWE v1.1, its score jumped from 49 percent to 65.3 percent. Google said the model is better at debugging, issue resolution, first-pass code accuracy, and generating production-ready software.

The model is also designed to work better as an AI agent. Google says Gemini 3.7 Flash is better at adapting when it encounters obstacles, clarifying user intent, following instructions, planning multi-step tasks, and using external tools. This means it should need less help from human developers. Fewer retries and less manual fixing were a key goal for this update.

Web development also saw strong gains with the new model. Gemini 3.7 Flash received an Elo score of 1588 on Code Arena, compared with 1538 for Gemini 3.6 Flash, 1541 for Claude Sonnet 5, and 1523 for GPT-5.6 Terra. The model can build more complete web pages and apps using fewer prompts. It can also copy designs more closely from screenshots and images.

Price is a major selling point for this release. Gemini 3.7 Flash is available at an introductory rate of $0.75 per 1 million input tokens and $3.75 per 1 million output tokens through the end of 2026. From January 1, 2027, the price will increase to $1.50 per million input tokens and $7.50 per million output tokens. This lower starting price is meant to attract more developers to try it.

The new model is not only for programmers. Google tested it using a benchmark called GDP.pdf, which checks how well an AI understands business documents. It performed well compared to rival models from other companies. Gemini 3.7 Flash is also being added to Gemini Spark, Google’s personal AI agent, which is available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in more than 160 countries.

In short, Google has released a faster, cheaper, and more capable AI model built for coding and automation. It arrives just weeks after the last version, showing a rapid pace of updates. Developers and businesses now have a new tool for building software and handling digital tasks. It remains to be seen how this model performs against rivals once more developers put it to real-world use.
