Cartes offers a sovereign and modern alternative to Google and Apple Maps, providing comprehensive web mapping services for mainland France and soon expanding across Europe. This free and open-source platform includes search functionality, points of interest (shops, tourism), street imagery, and detailed route planning for various modes of transportation, including walking, cycling, public transport, car sharing, ferries, and eco-friendly options. The project is hosted in France and prioritizes user privacy. Initial translations will be available upon launch, marking the beginning of a comprehensive mapping experience across Europe.
