Explore Kubuntu, the official Ubuntu flavor featuring the KDE Plasma desktop. Enjoy a visually distinct and customizable experience.
Kubuntu is an official version of Ubuntu that utilizes the KDE Plasma desktop environment, resulting in a distinct visual experience compared to standard Ubuntu. Initially sponsored by Canonical Ltd., Kubuntu’s development transitioned to Blue Systems, though the project continues to benefit from contributions from Blue Systems employees and community members, who now actively contribute to both KDE and Debian projects. This shift ensured that existing infrastructure and developers remained involved, maintaining continuity within the Kubuntu ecosystem while fostering a collaborative environment.
