Myne (eBook)

Myne is a free and open-source Android application designed for downloading ebooks from Project Gutenberg. It leverages the GutenDex API to retrieve metadata about ebooks efficiently. Inspired by the anime “Ascendance of a Bookworm,” Myne also utilizes the Google Books API to supplement metadata with additional information such as summaries and page counts, which are often missing in Gutenberg’s data. While Myne strives to accurately map data from both APIs, the integration isn’t always perfect. Users may encounter instances where a book available on Gutenberg lacks corresponding information on Google Books or vice versa, potentially leading to incomplete metadata for certain titles within the Myne app.
