ArchiveBox is a self-hosted archiving tool that saves web pages as HTML, PDF, images & more. Import bookmarks, RSS, or files. Features: browser history, complex sites, JSON, Git archives, scheduling & offline mode.

ArchiveBox

ArchiveBox provides a comprehensive solution for archiving modern websites by capturing their content in various formats beyond what standard services like Archive.org can achieve. It supports importing URLs from stdin, remote sources, or files, and then generates browsable HTML clones, extracts media using youtube-dl, creates PDF and screenshot exports, and captures DOM data using a headless Chrome instance – ensuring even complex websites are archived with high fidelity for long-term preservation. The archiving process is designed to be additive, allowing scheduled execution for regular updates. All saved content is stored as static JSON files, making it easily searchable and accessible without the need for a persistent backend server. This ensures permanent storage and accessibility of archived website data.
