LibreCAD is a free and open-source 2D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) application available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Built upon the Qt framework, it provides a user-friendly interface for creating and modifying 2D designs. LibreCAD supports importing DWG files, along with other common CAD formats, and exports to DXF, SVG, JPG, PNG, PDF, and other file types. Key features include layers, blocks, splines, polylines, ellipse tools, advanced tangent and circle tools, transformation tools, and a sophisticated snapping system for precise drawing. Its focus on 2D geometry allows for fast and lightweight operation with an installer size under 30MB. LibreCAD was initially derived from the QCAD Community Edition around 2010.
